J.L. Simmons has taught in four major universities, cofounded two counseling centers, and lectured extensively across the country on crime issues.
Dr. Simmons is a renowned sociologist and field researcher. He has written or coauthored more than ten books, including the Literary Guild selection, 76 Ways to Protect Your Child from Crime. He is best known for his two crime prevention books, including 67 Ways to Protect Seniors from Crime, as well as his book on the growth of spirituality worldwide in The Emerging New Age.
His best-selling portrait of the youth movement, frequently quoted in books and articles on the 1960s, It's Happening, continues to be a seminal work on the 'flower children' that later became known as the baby boomers.
In his last years he studied extensively on health issues, producing several unpublished articles on the subject, and worked with his son Christopher's marketing communications company, developing and editing creative content. His final (unpublished) book, Soul Mirrors, may become available through this site at some future date.
